Cookies

Last updated 6 November 2026.

This page lists the cookies and other browser storage used by the Pivot website (www.pivotapp.uk), the help centre (help.pivotapp.uk) and the Pivot app (app.pivotapp.uk). Browser storage means values a site keeps in your browser without a cookie. It stays on your device and is not sent to us.

The website

This website sets no cookies and uses no browser storage. It has no analytics or tracking. The font is served from this site, not from a third party.

The help centre

The help centre sets no cookies and has no analytics. It keeps two values in your browser so the pages work as you left them:

NameTypeWhat it doesLasts
starlight-themeLocal storageRemembers whether you chose light or dark mode.Until you clear your browser data
sl-sidebar-stateSession storageRemembers which sidebar sections you opened and where you scrolled to.Until you close the tab

Search runs in your browser and stores nothing.

The Pivot app

The app uses cookies and browser storage for three things: signing you in, remembering your settings, and analytics.

Signing in

Sign-in is handled by Auth0 at auth.pivotapp.uk. These cookies are needed to sign you in and keep you signed in. The app itself keeps your sign-in tokens in memory, not in a cookie or storage, so they go when you close the tab.

NameSet byWhat it doesLasts
auth0.[client id].is.authenticated and _legacy_auth0.[client id].is.authenticatedapp.pivotapp.ukNotes that you signed in, so the app can restore your session when you come back.1 day
a0.spajs.txs.[client id]app.pivotapp.ukHolds the state of a sign-in that is in progress, to protect against forged sign-in requests. Removed when sign-in completes.1 day
auth0 and auth0_compatauth.pivotapp.ukAuth0's sign-in session, so you are not asked to sign in again on every visit.Until you sign out or the session expires
did and did_compatauth.pivotapp.ukIdentifies your device to Auth0, to protect sign-in against attacks.1 year

Your settings

The app keeps these in your browser so it loads quickly and remembers how you left it. They hold your own account details and settings and are never sent to anyone else.

NameTypeWhat it doesLasts

currentUser, currentUserRefreshedAtLocal storageA copy of your account details (name, email, brands, roles) so the app opens without waiting, and when it was last refreshed.Until you sign out

postLoginReturnUrlSession storageThe page you were trying to open, so the app returns you there after sign-in.Until you close the tab

Analytics

The app uses Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are used, so that we can improve Pivot. It sends Google the pages you visit, your internal Pivot user ID (not your email address), whether you are a client or staff, and the brand you are viewing. It is not used for advertising. Google Analytics sets its cookies for the whole pivotapp.uk domain, so your browser also sends them to this website and the help centre, which don't read them.

NameSet byWhat it doesLasts
_ga and _ga_KCJ1MCQ1J5Google Analytics, from the appLets Google Analytics tell one visitor from another, and one session from the next.Up to 2 years (about 13 months in Chrome, which caps cookie lifetimes)

UK law allows cookies that only measure how a service is used, to improve it, without asking first, as long as you can opt out. To opt out, useGoogle's opt-out browser add-on or block cookies for pivotapp.uk. The app works the same either way.

Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies and browser storage in your browser's settings. If you block the sign-in cookies, you will not be able to use the Pivot app. Blocking the others only means the app forgets your settings between visits.
